M/W/ESB Opportunities

We intentionally provide equal opportunity to all by reaching out to those groups which have been traditionally underrepresented in the construction community.  Zach Bascom, our Outreach Coordinator, ensures that we are…

  • Tracking the ESB/MBE/WBE status of each company on our qualified subcontractor list.
  • Represented at the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs monthly meeting.
  • Developing relationships with other members who may have interest in one or more of our projects.

Strategies for Achieving Minority Involvement

Advertise in Publications (The Skanner, El Hispanic News, and The Asian Reporter) aimed at the minority community.

Target Specific Phases of Work. Although we welcome minority participation in all phases of projects we bid, we concentrate our efforts to improve bidder participation in phases of work that include many M/W/DBE and ESB companies. Our bid invitations and follow-up calls include every minority sub or supplier identified and capable of performing the work.

Focus on Lower Tier Subcontractors. For bid packages with historically low M/W/DBE and ESB participation, we encourage bidding subcontractors to contract with M/W/DBE and ESB firms for portions of their phase of work. We reinforce our commitment to enhancing this kind of participation in pre-bid meetings and coordination with bidding subcontractors.

Yorke & Curtis is a proud member of the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs.  OAME exists to promote and develop entrepreneurship and economic development for ethnic minorities in the State of Oregon and work to reduce discrimination and racism.

We are always looking for M/W/DBE or ESB qualified subcontractors who share our values. If you would like to receive invitations to bid our projects, you must first qualify as an offical subcontractor. To do that simply fillout the Sub-Qualification Form (see below).  If you have any questions please contact Zach Bascom. We hope we can work with you in the near future! For Up and Coming Bid information contact Zach Bascom at zachb@yorkeandcurtis.com.
